Pentru a putea rula codul PHP pe computerul de acasa aveti nevoie de 3 componente importante.

- Web Server – PHP poate lucra cu orice tip de server web, chiar si Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), dar cel mai des folosit este bine cunoscutul (si evident gratuit) Apache. Acesta poate fi descarcat de aici: http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi
- Baza de Date – PHP poate lucra cu o multime de baze de date (cum am zis si in cursul trecut), dar cea mai folosita este bine cunoscuta MySql : http://www.mysql.com/downloads/index.html
- Parser PHP – Pentru a procesa codul PHP avem nevoie si de un Parser ce va genera outputul HTML final ce va fi trimis catre browser.
Instalare in Windows
In primul rand va recomand unul dintre urmatoarele servere web:
Descarca versiunea dorita (eu folosesc XAMPP) si fa dublu click pe installer-ul abia descarcat. Acum ramane sa pornesti serviciile dorite, ma refer la PHP si MySql. In XAMPP avem XAMPP Control Panel din care putem da Start serviciilor dorite, in WAMP ne apare iconita Control Panel-ului in sectiunea de Notification Area si putem selecta de acolo serviciile pe care dorim sa le pornim.
Instalare Unix
Instalare pe ubuntu 10.04
In primul rand trebuie sa improspatam indexul de pachete:
sudo apt-get update
Acum putem instala LAMP (Linux Apache Mysql PHP)
sudo apt-get install lamp-server
